The Safety Advocacy & Empowerment Foundation (SAEF) in collaboration with various safety groups in Nigeria have announced a fund raising & palliative package for Safety Professionals as a way of cushioning the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown in the safety Industry.
In a statement made available to HSENations, SAEF said the process will kickoff with fund raising through its GTBank Account: Safety Advocacy & Empowerment Foundation – 0128006518 where enabled Safety Professionals are advised to send in their donations before Friday May 1st 2020.
The statement further directed Safety Professionals who are in need of assistance to communicate their details through the Leaders of their Professional safety Groups on or before April 25, 2020 by 9pm.
According to the statement, details of the amount received and the total number of Safety Professionals in need will be made available to determine the sharing formular and amount to be disbursed to members on May 5, 2020.
According to a SAEF Director, the relief package is SAEF’s own contribution to assist its members in need at this critical time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his words, “If the people are being encouraged to obey the lockdown directive of the government, we must also get them what to eat. It will be irresponsible of any professional association to abandon his or her people in a crisis period like this, and that is why SAEF is stepping up with this palliative package”
He further encouraged Safety Professionals and well meaning individuals in the Safety industry to make good use of this opportunity to support other professionals in need.
