The Kaduna State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has said that it convicted not less than 262 traffic offenders between the months of January to August in the state.
Revealing this on Monday, the Sector Commander, Hafiz Muhammed, said that 262 convictions were carried out in seven mobile courts across the state while 19 others were discharged.
Of the 262 convictions, 75 were charged for driving license violation, 48 for overloading, 42 for seat-belt violation, 39 for failure to install speed limiting devices in their vehicles, 30 for driving with shattered windscreens and the rest for other offences.
Muhammed cautioned motorists to avoid over speeding, avoid driving while drunk and make sure to follow all the guidelines out in place for Covid-19 prevention.
He also called on passengers to caution their drivers against over speeding or overloading their vehicles, for safety reasons.
He also implored them to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 protocols as the sector won’t stop in its fight against traffic violators.
