According to the Managing Director of Honeywell Flour Mills PLC, Mr. Lanre Jaiyeola, his company has flagged off ember month rally to educate the motoring community on the need for safe driving.
He said this in a media pally with journalist in Lagos.
Lanre said, “We don’t want road accidents to add to the challenges of the year. People will be travelling and conveying goods at this time so it is important we educate road users on the importance of safety and safe driving on our roads. We do not want any accidents as we go into the ember month.”
In the same vein, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has also launched a campaign themed “Drive Safe, Stay Safe”.
In an interview with Guardian newspaper, the unit commander RS2.15 Ojota Unit Command Assistant Corps, Commander Emmanuel Obi, opined that there is always a massive movement of people on the road at this period.
He advised drivers to drive safety, while also reiterating FRSC’s commitment to promoting safety culture. He begged road users to avoid use of phone, engaging in thoughts outside driving, street searching, watching roadside diversion, eating, drinking or smoking while driving.
He also enjoined road users to always keep an eye on the kids or pet.
