
Despite needing water to survive, it tends to be overlooked by most people.
There are so many amazing things about water that you might not know. For example, did you know that if all of the world’s water were to fit in a one gallon jug, the fresh water available for us to drink would be equal to only one tablespoon?
Below are some amazing facts about water you’ll find interesting:
- Your body is about 60 percent water.
- Your muscles are about 75 percent water.
- Your brain is about 75 percent water.
- Your blood is approximately 82 percent water.
- Your bones are approximately 25 percent water. The average sized human requires about three quarts of water a day.
To determine your water needs, take your body weight in pounds and divide it by 2. This will equal the amount of water in ounces that you need per day.
For example, a 200 pound man needs 100 ounces of water a day: 200 divided by 2 equals 100 ounces).
Food that contain good amount of water (i.e. fruits) to promote your health are –
(a) Bananas which are over 70 percent water
(b) Apples are – 80 percent water and
(c) Tomatoes are approximately 95 percent water.(the tomatoes especially must be fresh not overripe – thoroughly washed with vinegar or a pinch of salt).

You should minimize or at best avoid the intake of toast, fast-food hamburger, baked potato or a piece of apple pie – unfortunately, starchy processed foods, cooked meats and most fats contain very little water:; they run you to insufficient water Intake.
(dehydration). Coffee, tea, sodas are caffeinated beverages.
They do not meet your water requirements, for caffeine is a diuretic and actually causes you to lose water.
The danger of not drinking enough water is that you won’t have sufficient fluid in your tissue and you may become chronically dehydrated.
To help you meet your water requirement eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and you will likely get one quart minimum of your needed daily water intake.
So, in addition to your food intake, you need two extra quarts of water – and if you live in a warm climate, a little more.
Avoid/minimize drinking water between meals (unless very seriously needed) as that does not help your digestive system.
Drink water one hour or minimum of 30 minutes before meal and one hour or one hour thirty minutes after meals.
Lack of this vital element contributes to various veins, heart disease, – high blood pressure, asthma, allegies, hiatal hernias, ulcers, arthritis, back/neck pain, headaches memory loss, high cholesterol and even kidney stones.
