According to DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, the report reached the Kpakungu Division Office around 6:30 pm. Upon arrival, the police found the lifeless bodies of the children inside the vehicle, which bore registration No. GO 778 ABC. The community was left in shock as the grim reality sunk in.

As authorities initiated an investigation, it was revealed that the owner of the vehicle had been summoned for questioning.

Initial findings suggested that the children had inadvertently locked themselves in the car, which had been abandoned for over two years.

The negligence surrounding the unused vehicle turned into a fatal trap for the unsuspecting children.
