LSC and Insurers Association partnered on Capacity building conference
The Lagos State Safety Commission (LSC), Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and a safety consultancy firm, CTSGlobe have partnered for the maiden edition of the Lagos State Occupational Health and Safety Compliance Surveillance Audit-Capacity Building Conference for Insurance Institution.
The Director-General/CEO of LSC, Mr. Lanre Mojola said that the key objective of the conference is to ensure compliance with safety standards across all insurance and financial institutions in Lagos State while fostering a sense of ownership and leadership commitment to achieve an improved safety culture within the Lagos business environment.
He added that the event would enable appraisal and feedback from the concluded audit exercise as well as horizon scanning of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) implementation for the year 2023.
He added that the training would equip attendees with continuous awareness of safety compliance in their respective organisations.
The Director-General/CEO of Nigerian Insurers Association, Mrs Yetunde Ilori said that the 3-day capacity-building conference was specifically designed for officers with the responsibility and accountability for managing health, safety, risk and compliance for the association’s audited member companies.

She said that the conference is to complete the last phase of the health and safety project of insurance institutions.
CEO of CTSGlobe, Funmi Adegbola said that the conference which is ongoing started on Wednesday October 13 and will run till Friday 15, 2022.
She said that human resource officers, risk officers, compliance officers and designated health and safety officers were present at the conference.
