Road safety has so much area which states safety of lives and properties as a very important priority. While road accident has, constitute major fear to road users, there are various ways in which road accident can be avoided. Road safety law and regulations guides towards what are required and demanded from every individual who are mobile use oriented and aims towards the safety of the society.

This article will focus on how every individual can work to prevent fire accident while driving.

1.Do NOT smoke in your car?

Every individual both adult and children are at health risk when smoking is mentioned. It is more dangerous for passive smokers (those who stay where active smokers are smoking). Smoking inside the car is very hazardous and can lead to lots of no fixable damages. So it is very important to ensure you avoid smoking inside the car at anytime. However, research suggests that smoking in the closed environment of a car seriously pollutes the interior with nicotine and other smoke pollutants. Such nicotine pollution constitutes third-hand exposure and can lead to a dangerous health defect.

2.Do NOT leave flammables in your car?

Flammables are material or objects which can easily catch fire when left unattended to for short or long period of time. Leaving flammables can cause fire accident due to scorching sun. Materials and objects like gasoline, explosives, lighter fluid, aerosol cans, nail polish, alcohol, should be kept away from the car, or if they must be in the car, precise measures must be taken to ensure they are not kept where they can cause explosions.

3. Check for damaged or loose wiring.

One of the first sign that your car has a wiring problem is the inability of the engine to crank properly. Issues like this can lead to unnecessary sparking which at the end can lead to fire accident. Always ensure to replaced damaged wire with immediate effect. Also for the loose wire, it is very important to call the attention of a professional when fixing it to avoid future accidents.

4.Check for oil or fuel leaks.

To check for engine oil leaks keep a close eye on your oil dipstick. If the level drops over time you’re losing oil. While driving, check and see if blue smoke is coming from the tailpipe. Blue smoke means oil might be leaking into the engine itself. It is very important to always check for oil or fuel leakage as issues like oil leaking from the engine of the car to other part can also lead to fire accident. Oil leaks are something you cannot afford to ignore. It doesn’t always take a trained mechanic to figure out what causes engine oil leaks. A little hunting can reveal a lot, just don’t put it off or it can cause damage to your engine.

5.Respond immediately when a strange odor (e.g. gasoline, burning rubber, burning plastic), smoke or flames are present. A clear indication is if it comes from under the hood or wheel area. Responding to strange smell or odor will keep you at alert and also help you to differentiate what is likely to causes fire hazards from what can not.
