Zambia’s High Commissioner Lauds AfriSAFE, Pledges Full Support

Zambia’s High Commissioner to Australia and New Zealand, Amb. (Dr.) Elias Munshya has commended the Africa Safety Award for Excellence (AfriSAFE) for the vital role it continues to play in advocating for safety and sustainability, not only in Zambia but across Africa.

Amb. Munshya also pledged his full support for the AfriSAFE initiative, which he said aligns with Zambia’s vision for promoting safety and well-being across all sectors.

The high-ranking diplomat said this after a fruitful meeting with AfriSAFE Global Vice President, Mr. Frank Mwaala Sipilanyambe, in Perth, Western Australia on Thursday.

The meeting held on the sideline of the ambassador’s working visit to Perth, which is part of a broader agenda that includes promoting Zambia’s mining and energy sectors at the Africa Down Under Conference, meeting with the Zambian community in Western Australia, and engaging with leaders from the Australia Zambia Business Council and other stakeholders.

The ambassador charged interested stakeholders to participate in 2024 AfriSAFE, adding that “Together, we can enhance safety standards and foster sustainable development in Africa.”
The 2024 AfriSAFE Congress & Award Banquet is scheduled to hold in Livingstone, Zambia on November 7 & 8, 2024.

The 2024 event will formally kick-off with the Free Practical First-Aid, Emergency Response Empowerment and Mental Health Awareness Exercise for artisans in Lusaka, Zambia on October 23.

The 2024 AfriSAFE Congress & Award has Zambia Sugar as Headline Sponsor and enjoys the endorsements of the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Labour & Social Security of Zambia, including the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest chartered body for safety and health professionals.
