Governor Umo Eno, has approved the recruitment of 600 health workers and 100 occupational safety officers in Akwa Ibom State to enhance public service delivery, improve healthcare access, and ensure workplace safety. The announcement was made by the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, during an interaction with journalists in his office.
The health sector will benefit significantly, with 400 new health workers assigned to the primary health sector and 200 to the secondary health sector. This initiative is designed to strengthen healthcare systems and improve the quality and accessibility of medical services across the state. In addition, the recruitment of 100 professional occupational safety officers will help enforce workplace safety standards, safeguard workers’ welfare, and reduce risks in both public and private sectors.
Elder Effiong Essien assured the public of a fair and transparent recruitment process, encouraging qualified candidates to apply through the Akwa Ibom State employment portal. This approach aligns with the administration’s goal of maintaining integrity and ensuring equal opportunities for all applicants.
