Association of Nigerian Women Safety Professionals ( ANWOSAP) joined other women around the world to celebrate The International Women’s Day which is a global day for celebrating the achievement of women in the social, economic, cultural and political space globally.
The theme for #IWD2020 is I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights. The campaign for this year’s theme is #EachforEqual.
According to the Executive Board of the association, they stressed that Gender equality is not just a woman’s issue it has become a universal issue calling for advocacy and awareness. This is what we need in order to achieve sustainable development goals #SDGs for a better and progressive world”
According to a statement sent to HSENationson, the Executive Board emphasized the reason why the platform was created, it reads “the Association of Nigerian Women Safety professionals ( ANWOSAP) was created for Women to support Women Safety Professionals- is for growth and development, support, mentorship, coaching, training and networking opportunities for the women OSH professionals to accelerate the #EachforEqual campaign.
What this means in the OSH profession is an opportunity to create some kind of balance for the female OSH professionals, in order to achieve more gender parity.
“An equal world is an enabled world” To add to this, An equal world is a safer, more secured, more stable and more progressive word!” It concluded.
