The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) Nigeria Chapter has announced the theme for its annual flagship event, the Professional Development Conference (PDC) 2027: “Theme: Building Alliances. Driving Change. Protecting Lives from Home to Industry.”
The conference serves as a major national call to action for safety, health, and environmental (HSE) practitioners, policymakers, corporate leaders, and community advocates to align strategies and address safety risks across both domestic and industrial landscapes.
Founded in 1911, the global ASSP body supports a network of more than 35,000 safety professionals across 80 countries, shaping international standards and safety management frameworks.
In Nigeria, the chapter continues to lead capacity-building initiatives, offer professional certifications, and collaborate with government agencies to advance workplace protection.
Addressing the roadmap for the upcoming event, Dr. Victor Nnamdi Egbe, President of the ASSP Nigeria Chapter, emphasized the critical need for cross-sector collaboration:
