President Muhammadu Buhari will by 7pm today address Nigerians in a live broadcast over the outbreak of COVID-19.
This was gathered in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adeshina, who said “Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast”.
HSENations recalls Nigerians have clamoured for a broadcast by Buhari over the raging coronavirus pandemic.
However, his loyalists said Buhari’s style was to work and not to make a broadcast. It’s unclear why he has made a U-turn.
This online safety news platform understands that the broadcast follows criticisms from Reno Omokri and Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayode, both faulted the President’s back-seat position since the Covid-19 outbreak, calling him out to address Nigerians as other world leaders have taken an active role in the fight against the virus.
Meanwhile, HSENations reports that Buhari’s live broadcast will be coming a day after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that the number of coronavirus in Nigeria has risen to ninety-seven (97).
