The Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (NISafetyE), a distinguished arm of The Nigerian Society of Engineers, cordially invites industry professionals and stakeholders to the investiture ceremony of its fourth National Chairman, Engr. Oluseun Faluyi, FNSE, FNISafetyE. The event is set to take place at the renowned Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Thursday, February 22, 2024, commencing at 10:00 am.
This investiture marks not just a change in leadership but a celebration of NISafetyE’s ongoing dedication to safety engineering. Since its establishment in 2016, the institution has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from six state chapters to now include Oyo, Kano, Imo, Enugu, and Cross River. Its impact extends beyond borders, fostering safety excellence across the nation and beyond.
Under the outgoing leadership of Engr. Akaninyene Ekong, MNSE, FNISafetyE, NISafetyE has achieved significant milestones, including the expansion of state chapters, increased membership, development of codes of practice, impactful outreach efforts, technical capacity development, and collaboration with government and international organizations. Engr. Ekong’s proactive engagement underscored the institution’s commitment to advancing safety engineering and promoting safety practices globally.
The investiture ceremony promises to be a landmark occasion, graced by distinguished guests and luminaries in the safety engineering field. Leading the proceedings is Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, who will serve as the distinguished chairperson. Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, CFR, CON, Chairman of BUA Group, will honor the event as the special guest of honor. Adding depth to the discourse, Prof. Barth Nnaji, FAS, FAEng., NNOM, Former Minister of Power, will deliver a keynote address on “Leveraging the Power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Safety Engineering: The Prospects and Potentials”.
