………..Urges NCDC To Quit The Daily Negative Report

Dr. Wilson Arikpo a Safety Professional has expressed dissatisfaction with the approach of the  Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in tackling the COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria. He said:
“Why is NCDC excited about making sure that every part of Nigeria is declared as having COVID-19, even without enough evidence.”

“I expect them to celebrate the sincere efforts of the Cross River State government in fighting the pandemic and keeping it at bay with all the right precautionary measures put in place, even if the testing capacity is low.

After all, it takes only one case to declare that a state has COVID-19 like they allegedly did in Kogi State; but all the testing carried out from Cross River State has returned negative.

All the dodgy battles between the NCDC & the Cross River State government is not healthy for the psyché of the people.

I am appealing that the PTF on COVID-19 should make room for a positive atmosphere of self-belief, instead of the current tactics of spreading paralyzing fear to the point where worship centers (traditional Havens of Hope in times of trouble) like the Church and Mosque, are not encouraged to converge to pray.

Even medical practitioner acknowledges that they try their best, but God is the Healer.

Since this virus is said not to be airborne, how will it enter the worship centers if we all follow the simple protocols of Washing our hands with soap, using alcohol-based sanitizers, using our face masks, no shaking of hands before entering the Worship Centres? Even without fumigating the place and maintaining social distancing, people should still be okay, if all the precautions are observed.

However, Church folks are ready to maintain social or physical distancing in the worship centers, yet the joy of fellowship has been taken away from the people, leading to broken spirits, which is worse than any virus.

The Bible says in:
Proverbs 15:13 (KJV)
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart, the spirit is broken.

Proverbs 17:22 (KJV)
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

NCDC should not break our spirits with too much negative news. Celebrate the little Ray of light & hope coming from Cross River and let others study or learn how they have managed thus far.

AfriSAFE 2020

I wish other ailments and more life-threatening issues like banditry, terrorism, killer-herdmen, kidnappings, robberies, poor infrastructures, etc are accorded this kind of State-of-Emergency status, the whole Nation will be better for it.

God bless this great country
Nigeria.”
