Dr. Ogechukwu elected ASSP President, Pledges to Safety Professionals

The American Society of Safety professionals Nigeria Chapter has witnessed a swift in power, following the emergence of Dr Ogechukwu Christian Ukandu emergence as the association’s president after Alhaji Shehu Kabir.

In his remark, Dr.Ogechukwu congratulated new elected executives and members, and gave assurance that his team will strive to make a difference. He avowed that his administration will sustain programs that strengthen the profession and improve members’ skills.

“Everyone, no matter who you are, has the potential to do something that can improve lives. Let us not forget we are a global society, united by our values and rich with talent.
“If each of us puts in what we can, we will find that we can get back what we need despite the challenges, we have a lot to offer to industries, government agencies, private sectors, and to the broader community as they wrestle with the issues of the modern world and, if we do it right, I know our contributions will be welcomed and appreciated.”, he stated.


The new president commended his predecessors and added that the association “might not be where we desire to be, yet but the journey thus far has been steadily progressive”
He appealed to his new executives and members to imbibe the spirit of togetherness and join hands with his administration to foster unity and progress for our great Society.
Speaking earlier at the event, the outgoing President, Shehu Kabri, listed the achievement of his administration, highlighting how his administration cleared backlog annual returns debt, fostered learning and boosted membership registration.
He promised that the Financial breakdown will be presented during the physical meeting in Port Harcourt on the 6th of August, 2022.

In Kabri’s conclusion, he expressed his gratitude to their sponsors, NNPC Ltd, LNG, KRPC, NPDC, and also to the past and present executive members for their commitment.
