Ghana Confirmed As Host Of AfriSAFE 2026, Event Tipped To Be Biggest Yet

Africa Safety Award for Excellence (AfriSAFE) has officially announced that Ghana will host the 2026 edition of its prestigious Congress and Awards, with organisers describing the upcoming gathering as one that is tipped to become the biggest in the history of the platform.
The announcement marks another step in the steady expansion of AfriSAFE across the continent as it continues to unite safety professionals, organisations and institutions committed to improving workplace safety, health, environment and wellbeing in Africa.
Over the years, the AfriSAFE Congress has moved across different African countries, strengthening collaboration and professional exchange within the safety community. From Nigeria to Zambia and most recently Kenya, the event has grown into the continent’s most recognised gatherings dedicated to advancing occupational safety and health standards.
The 2023 / 2025 editions attracted an impressive turnout, bringing together more than 25,000 dignitaries, industry leaders, regulators and safety professionals from 36 Africa countries and beyond. Participants engaged in high level discussions, professional networking and recognition of individuals and organisations making remarkable contributions to safety excellence.
With Ghana now confirmed as the next destination, organisers say preparations are already building momentum for what is expected to be a landmark edition of the congress.
Ghana is widely regarded as one of West Africa’s most stable and progressive countries, with increasing attention being given to workplace safety, environmental protection and responsible industrial practices.
The country’s growing infrastructure, vibrant professional community and commitment to development have also positioned it as a strong hub for international conferences and professional events in Africa.
As anticipation builds, AfriSAFE 2026 is already being projected as a gathering that will bring together thousands of participants from across Africa and beyond.
Endorsements and collaborations are already coming in, with organisations such as the Ghana Electrical Contractors Association (GECA) and the Ghana Institute of Safety and Environmental Professionals (GhISEP) already on board.
