Workplace productivity is referred to the amount of work that your staff can produce over a certain period. It is also the measure of the total output (goods and services) versus the total input (labor and costs). While workplace productivity is often affected by various factors, Physical, Biological, environmental and physiological factors.

This different factor has various efforts on the productivity a company will receive which will at the end impact the growth of the company. This article will focus on the health issues that affects workplace productivity and growth.

1. Heart Diseases
Heart diseases are often a major cause of workplace reduction in productivity. Patients with heart failure experience various physical and emotional symptoms such as dyspnea, fatigue, edema, sleeping difficulties, depression, and chest pain. These symptoms limit patients’ daily physical and social activities and result in poor performance. Patients with heart failure often require a planned down medical care and attention; they can also all of a sudden go into silent mood, thereby making workplace productivity tedious to achieve or attain by patients.

2.Migraines
Research has shown that people with 15 or more migraine attacks per month losses approximately 4.5 hours of work productivity a week. An Estimates of the burden of migraine suggests that the average impact of a migraine on loss in worker productivity is approximately 4 workdays per year. Migraine often has various effects on workplace productivity depending on whether it is moderate or chronic. Moderate migraine can be easily treated taking prescription or ensuring the environment is very conducive. Unlike Heart diseases, Migraine can be treated with immediate care. Put a filter over your computer monitor if glare from it hurts your head or eyes. Put blinds or curtains over bright windows. Consider drinking enough water to allow easy movement of ions in the body.

3. Asthma
Asthma is said to affect workplace productivity by a third. People living with asthma showed insights the impact of asthma on their emotional well-being at work, including tiredness, weakness and mental strain. Study participants also described feelings of desperation, stress, embarrassment, helplessness and guilt. Also, Asthma can also be treated using prescription and environmental care. Asthma although come with a more advanced effect as people living with asthma have certain work jurisdiction which is termed unsafely for them.

4. kidney Diseases
Kidney disease is a disease which have various impacts of the function of the kidney either long term or short time failure. It depends on how chronic it is.

The kidney functions in order to filter out waste from the body, a situation where the kidney becomes incapable of performing this function is often referred to as kidney failure.

Unlike other health concerns, People battling heart diseases and kidney will often need greater care and life insurance, Kidney diseases for example often needs dialysis and this will always affect the productivity of the workforce. Those in the later stages of kidney failure are generally unable to travel from their homes or medical facility long enough to perform any kind of work.

5. Diabetes
Diabetes is a condition that impairs the body’s ability to process blood glucose, otherwise known as blood sugar. There are several types of diabetes,which have various treatments. People living with type 1 diabetes reported a 23% loss in work productivity due to the demands of diabetes (includes work time missed). Those with type 2 diabetes on insulin reported a 19% loss in productivity. Respondents with type 2 diabetes which don’t take insulin said they lost 11% of their work productivity.While other heart issues like kidney and heart diseases are often of a great concern, diabetes can be managed correctly through healthy diet and lifestyle. This can help with restructuring of the body thereby improving the work productivity of a company.

A diabetes patient can still function properly if adequate care and procedures are followed duly.
