Hybrid Group - HSE training

Hybrid Group, a leading health and safety firm in Nigeria, has graduated 10 trainees from her first technical skills development (TSD) program in Lagos.

The graduation ceremony took place on Thursday, March 31.

The training which began in August 2021, drew over 150 shortlisted applicants across Nigeria and admitted 6 young graduates who demonstrated enviable passion and enthusiasm for health and safety to embark on the 6-month learning system formulated to equip trainees with core skills in health, safety and environment, project management, quality management, etc.

Speaking on the essence of the training, CEO, Hybrid Group, Dr Dapo Omolade, said ”the project is borne out of the company’s vision to impact society with a message and awareness of the safety of lives, environment and assets through competence development of Nigerians.”

He noted that the initiative is one of the group’s commitments to a formal and structured approach to educating and empowering the world on safety and safety science.

The National President of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), Evaritus Uzamere, who was a special guest at the event commended Dr Dapo Omolade and the Hybrid Group for putting up the project.

According to him, “there are a lot of challenges in the safety sector but we have to create more awareness on what professional health and safety means and what it can do for our economy.”

He enjoined the trainees to implement the professional training and information they have received to promote industry standards.

At the end of the training, participants also bagged certifications in National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety by the National Examination Board in Occupational Health (NEBOSH) and ISPON’s General Health, Safety and Environment alongside practical experience onsite.

One of the trainees, Danke Mafeng expressed her gratitude to the Hybrid Group for the timely initiative.

“The program was challenging and engaging. It is the perfect way to kickstart my career in Health and Safety”, she said.
