The Lagos state government has evacuated an American citizen who tested positive for the virus to the United States.
The Lagos state commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi made this known in a tweet via his official handle on Wednesday.
Abayomi said eight patients have recovered from the disease in the state and have been discharged.
“Total #COVID19 Lagos cases is now 82. 8 patients have so far been discharged following their full recovery.”
“One of the confirmed cases who is an American citizen has been evacuated to the USA,” the tweet read.
Lagos state has recorded 82 coronavirus cases, making it the highest state with coronavirus cases in the country.
