Kenya’s Leading LPG Operator AGOL joins AfriSAFE 2025 as Sponsor

African Gas & Oil Company Ltd (AGOL), Kenya’s leading LPG terminal operator, has joined AfriSAFE 2025 as a sponsor. The move underscores AGOL’s dual commitment to clean energy and operational safety.
AGOL operates from the Miritini Terminal in Mombasa, where it imports, stores, and distributes Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across Eastern Africa. The company continues to invest in expanding capacity and infrastructure to improve energy access.
AGOL renders the following services:
- Importation and bulk storage of LPG in high-capacity facilities (expanding to 25,000 tonnes)
- Quality assurance via KENAS-accredited laboratory to test products before release
- Safety infrastructure: deluge systems, gas & flame detectors, large fire water storage tanks
- Facility expansion and infrastructure upgrades to reduce turnaround times and increase throughput
- Support for Kenya’s clean energy transition by promoting LPG use instead of biomass (charcoal, firewood)
- Regional LPG distribution and trade to enhance energy security in East Africa
AGOL’s terminal is also part of Kenya’s push for common user LPG facilities shared infrastructure intended to lower gas prices and improve efficiency. Collaborations with government and energy bodies are under way to streamline LPG infrastructure across the region.
By sponsoring AfriSAFE 2025, AGOL signals that energy access and safety go hand in hand. Its presence affirms that clean energy infrastructure must be underpinned by strong safety standards.
