LSSC To Raise 500,000 Seasoned Health And Safety Professionals

The Director General (DG) of the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC), Hon. Hakeem Dickson has declared the need and importance of qualified safety professionals. As such, the DG has partnered with the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH) to achieve this vision.

The project spans over 5years where IOSH joins all effort with the LSSC to develop a model of safety and move the country from an embryonic phase to an Intergrated position.

As part of the collaboration, IOSH has unveiled its professional qualification (IOSH for Business), which gives access to be a technical member of the institute on successful completion of the course.

The project at the end of 2023 aims to move Nigeria (Lagos) from a limited understanding of business risk around OSH to placing OSH against broader context of an organisation and across the entirety of the value chain.

Hakeem hopes with this collaboration, strong and visible felt leadership behaviours will be evident through all layers of all organisations
