No State In Nigeria Is COVID-19 Free, NCDC Insists

A top official of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), JJ Shalanga has died from the COVID-19 virus.

Shalanga who was posted to Zamfara State to supervise the spread and control of the disease died on Sunday July 5, 2020.

According to reports, Shalanga was sick for days and was admitted at Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau where he gave up the ghost.

Confirming the official’s death, Zamfara State Commissioner for Health, Yahaya Kanoma  said his samples which were tested revealed he had the virus.

His remains have been conveyed to his hometown in Plateau State for burial.
