Safekids Consult: Pioneering Child Safety Awareness in Schools

Safekids Consult has taken a bold step forward in promoting child safety within schools through a groundbreaking initiative aimed at raising awareness and equipping child handlers with essential safety skills.

Spearheaded by Adejumoke Sangolana, Safekids Consult is driven by a profound sense of social responsibility and a commitment to safeguarding children in educational environments.

The primary goal of this initiative is to instill a culture of safety within schools, prompting parents and educators to prioritize basic safety measures in both school and home settings. By enhancing staff knowledge and preparedness, the aim is to significantly reduce incidents involving childcare, particularly within school premises.

Unlike industries that can readily afford to invest in safety professionals and implement comprehensive safety management systems, many schools face financial constraints that limit their ability to address safety concerns effectively. As such, school safety emerges as a crucial social responsibility initiative, necessitating collaborative efforts to bridge existing gaps.

Safekids Consult’s inaugural edition of this initiative is made possible through the generous support of socially responsible organizations such as The Trusted Advisors, HSE Nations, Fuschia Events, Unicorn Vic Services, Ampleprint Hub, and DAT Visuals.

Together, they are facilitating essential training sessions across three key areas, all centered on child safety:

Fire Prevention and Firefighting: Equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to fire emergencies effectively.
First Aid and Child CPR: Providing comprehensive training in first aid techniques and CPR specifically tailored to address the unique needs of children.
Legal Perspective on Child Protection: Educating stakeholders on legal frameworks and protocols surrounding child protection, ensuring compliance and accountability.

In addition to the training sessions, Safekids Consult is committed to promoting literacy and safety awareness among children by donating child safety storybooks to school libraries. These storybooks serve as valuable educational resources, empowering young minds with the knowledge they need to navigate potential safety risks.

Undoubtedly, launching such an initiative comes with its challenges, from garnering support from schools to securing the necessary financial resources for event organization. Safekids Consult extends its heartfelt gratitude to its sponsors for their invaluable support and looks forward to attracting even larger sponsorships to further expand its impact and reach.

As Safekids Consult continues to champion child safety initiatives, it remains steadfast in its mission to foster a safer and more secure environment for the next generation of Nigerians. Through collective action and unwavering dedication, the vision of a safer future for children across schools and communities is within reach.
