In a momentous celebration of excellence, Dapo Omolade, CEO of Hybrid Group, and Prof. Christopher Imumolen, President of JPTS, were crowned as the exceptional recipients of the highly prestigious AfriSAFE Man of the Quinquennium award. This distinguished honor recognized their remarkable contributions to the field of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) over the past five years.

The AfriSAFE gala, held in Lagos on November 10, 2023, was a sensational event that brought together esteemed professionals and organizations from across Kenya, Botswana, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Zambia, and beyond. Under the inspiring theme, “Collaborating For A Safer and Sustainable Africa,” this gathering symbolized the collective commitment to fostering a safer and more secure Africa.

During the ceremony, a multitude of outstanding individuals and organizations were acknowledged for their invaluable contributions to the HSSE sector. These luminaries included visionary leaders such as Taiwo Ayodele Adeniyi, CEO of Vitafoam Plc; Ayodele Abioye, CEO of BUA Foods; Nachilala Nkombo, CEO of WWF Zambia; and Kayode Adeleke, CEO of RusselSmith, among others. Their remarkable achievements in various categories, spanning Manufacturing, FMCG, ESG, and Oil Servicing, earned them the distinguished CEO of the Year awards.

In addition, the CEO Recognition category lauded Princess Taizir Ajala of Gordon Barrett, Hon. Olaonipekun Kazeem of Focad Global Concept, Engr. Lanre Eyinfunjowo of Dolland Resources, and Engr. Ajibola Ahmadu of Atmos Integrated Services for their exceptional contributions to the industry. Their commitment to excellence and innovation made a lasting impact on the HSSE landscape.

Furthermore, notable professionals including Fyneray Mbata, Dr. Eugene O. Itua, Anthonia Beri, Cletus Onyemhese Agbakhamen, Engr. Okudor K. Emmanuel, and Hellen Mitole Cliffe were honored with the esteemed Industry Merit Award. Their significant and enduring contributions within the industry have paved the way for improved safety practices and standards.

Organizations that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to HSSE were also recognized during the event. Finsbury Heinz Limited, First Aid Services (Nig.) Enterprise, Golden Africa Djibouti, NMS Infrastructure Limited, RusselSmith Nigeria Limited, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and Stanbic IBTC Holdings were among the recipients of this prestigious acknowledgement. These entities have set a commendable benchmark for safety and security within their respective industries.
