LASEMA mentions the cause of BRT -Train collision that injured many
His words, “There could be several factors that led to or contributed to the crash. Generally, there will be root causes and there will be the immediate causes. The root causes are often traceable to Management failures and must be addressed if an organisation wants to prevent a repeat of the accident.
“The immediate causes are what, sadly, people often focus on. In this case, it could be mechanical or equipment or equipment failure, e.g brakes. It could also be due to human error, maybe a mistake or lapse on the driver’s part. He could also have just been reckless”.
He, however, advised the federal government to mount automatic electronic barriers that will stop vehicles while the trains are at a fair distance away.
He also called for the use of solar power while urging the government to employ human marshalls at major intersections with the highest risks to also monitor the controls.
He also called for more enlightenment campaigns to sentitive road users on how not to endanger the lives of the people.
