While the world has suffered much from the pandemic economically, it is also impossible not to talk about the impact that coronavirus has brought upon an individual’s safety. This article will discuss ways in which individual employees can understand their duties towards the safety of the organization and the environment.

Both employers and employees must learn to help each other, organizations should collaborate with health authorities to prevent and control COVID-19. Cooperation between management and workers and their representatives is essential for workplace‐related prevention measures. The need for collaboration is essential as it helps both the employees and employers have better understanding.

While individual employees are required to have understanding of what coronavirus is, it is also the duty of every workplace to ensure that their employees have access to consultation and measures individually. Employers should provide personal protective equipment and clothing according to the risk assessment. Such measures should not involve any expenditure on the part of the workers at anytime.

The coronavirus is fast becoming a pandemic virus which every individual is learning to associate with. People have come to understand that the disease may end up becoming something we need to live and survive through as a world disease. Due to this, the need for an individual at every workplace to stand against stigmatization of those who happen to contract the virus is very important. There should be no social stigma or discrimination at the workplace for any reason, including access to information and protection from COVID-19, occupational health services and mental health and psychosocial support.

4. Availability of special measures
Special measures are needed to put into consideration employees who are at a very high risk of contracting the disease. Workers with underlying health conditions should have access to occupational health recommendation to ensure their safety against this virus is kept in check.

5. The need for health insurance
Organization whose work place environment involves running into various people from time to time is required to have a health insurance standard for their employees, e.g., air hostess, hoteliers. This ensures that individual workers are fully taken care of and followed up in case they contract the disease while performing their duty. The need for occupational safety and treatment must be considered for those who contract coronavirus while on the call of duty.

The coronavirus is fast becoming what every individual works towards protection against. As the world is moving on, it is imperative for us to understand that the virus may end up becoming a new normal, therefore individual at their various workplace must at all times understand what their right within their workplace is.
