COVID-19: Apapa port begins ‘no face mask, no entry’ policy enforcement

The management of the Apapa Port on Tuesday barred any port worker or user without a face mask from entering the Lagos Port Complex Apapa.
According to reports reaching HSENations, many port workers and users were stopped by security officials manning the main gate to the complex for failing to wear face masks.
They were reportedly directed to either use one or turn back.
A secretary in a nearby freight forwarding firm, who spoke with HSENations on condition of anonymity, confirmed the development.
She said she was at the port complex to run an errand for her boss when she observed the security officials stopping those without a face mask, while those wearing one were not disturbed.
One of the security personnel quoted by Ships and Ports said that the management directed them to observe COVID-19 protocols.
Recall that the Apapa Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) last week barred its personnel, clearing agents, and other stakeholders that have not received the COVID-19 vaccine from accessing its premises.
