COVID-19: NAFDAC Expresses Fear Over Citizens’ Safety As More Fake Vaccines Surface

Nigeria’s National Agency for Food Drug and Administration Control (NAFDAC) had expressed its fear over the rampant sales of fake COVID vaccines in black markets.

The authorities made this known at a virtual press conference held on Friday.

According to the Director-General of the agency, Mojisola Adeyeye the fake COVID-19 Drug can result in “Covid-like illnesses or other serious diseases that could kill.”

He begged the public to disembark from patronizing fake vaccines sellers, stating that NAFDAC is yet to approve any vaccine as COVID-19 cure.

In the same vein, the agency announced that 10 million real doses of vaccines against COVID-19 are expected in March.

Reports suggest that there are still uncertainties around the deal as the sponsor of the vaccine is yet to be ascertained.
