Fresh Start for ISPON! Udezi Elected President Amid Promises of a Safer Nigeria

The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) has elected a new board to direct the affairs of the body for the next two years.

It was learnt that this was the major highlight of the Professional Development Conference / Annual General Meeting of the institute held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja on October 17 – 19.

HSENations gathered that Chief Steven Udezi and Dr Foreman Onuoha were elected President and Deputy President respectively.

Also elected into the Governing Board are Mazi Harold Echendu, Dr. Monica Nwosu, Mr. Gilbert Nweke, Dr. Francis Iwu, Kibikiwa Tesh and Dr. Realman Obele.

Others are Mrs. Ibironke Ajayi, Dr. Lucky Oderhohwo, Mr. Ottobong Akpan and Bldr. Julius Okoh.

Speaking after his inauguration, the new President, Chief Steven Udezi lauded the reconciliation process that culminated in his election.

He saluted the House of Representatives Committee on Safety Standards and Regulations and the Caretaker / Transition Committee (CTC) which steered the peace process.

Udezi urged ISPON members to put the acrimony that existed in the institute behind them and work together for a more prosperous ISPON.

The new president advised all safety professionals to put their hands on the plough as the onerous task of ensuring 200 million Nigerians were made safe at work needed to be taken with the highest passion.

HSENations further gathered that a new ISPON logo was unveiled at the event.
